Scrum Poker (also called Planning Poker) is a gamified estimation technique for agile teams. Team members simultaneously and secretly estimate the complexity of user stories using cards. Only when everyone has chosen their card are they revealed. This prevents mutual influence and promotes honest estimates.

Do I need to register? ▼
No! You don't need an account, email address, or registration. Simply create a room and share the link with your team. That's it!
How many participants can be in a room? ▼
There's no fixed limit. In practice, Scrum Poker works best with 3-12 people. For larger groups, we recommend splitting into multiple teams.
How long do rooms stay active? ▼
Rooms are automatically deleted after 7 days of inactivity. As long as at least one participant is active, the room remains.

How do I create a new room? ▼
Click "Create New Room" on the homepage. You'll immediately receive a room code and link to share with your team.
How do I invite team members? ▼
There are several ways:
Share link: Click "Share Link" and copy the URL
QR code: Display the QR code on your screen
Room code: Share the 6-digit code, others enter it on the homepage
What do the card values mean? ▼
We use the Fibonacci scale (0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89). Additionally there are:

Can I add custom card values? ▼
Yes! Click "+ Card" to add custom values. You can add numbers from 0-100. These cards are visible to all participants in the room.
When are the cards revealed? ▼
Any participant can click "Reveal Cards" once at least one person has voted. Typically you wait until everyone has voted.
What happens with "New Round"? ▼
The current round is saved to the History and all votes are reset. Participants keep their names and can continue estimating right away.

Does Scrum Poker work on mobile devices? ▼
Yes! The application is fully responsive and works equally well on smartphones, tablets, and desktops.
Do I need to install anything? ▼
No, Scrum Poker Online runs entirely in the browser. You don't need an app, plugin, or installation.
Are real-time updates supported? ▼
Yes! We use a hybrid system with WebSocket connections for maximum speed and HTTP polling as fallback. You see other participants' changes instantly.
Is my connection secure? ▼
Yes, all connections run over HTTPS. We don't store personal data and communication is encrypted.
What happens with connection problems? ▼
The application automatically tries to reconnect. Your voting status and name are preserved. During longer outages, you'll be marked as "inactive".
Which browsers are supported? ▼
All modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge (current versions). Internet Explorer is not supported.

Estimation & Story Points
What are Story Points? ▼
Story Points are a relative unit of measure for a task's effort. They don't measure time, but complexity, uncertainty, and work volume. More in our guide: Story Points vs. Hours.
Why the Fibonacci scale? ▼
The Fibonacci sequence (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13...) reflects that uncertainty increases with larger tasks. The larger gaps at high values prevent false debates ("Is it 16 or 17?"). More: Fibonacci Scale Explained.
What to do with large deviations? ▼
When estimates vary widely (e.g., 3 and 13), people with extreme values should explain their perspective. This often reveals different understanding of the task. Then re-estimate.
Should the Product Owner estimate? ▼
This is team-dependent. Some teams prefer the PO not to estimate to avoid unconscious influence. Others value the PO perspective. Both approaches are valid.
